Fundraising Event - Pooh Corner

Pooh Corner

When A. A, Milne wrote Winnie the pooh for his son, I wonder if he knew how iconic it would become and just how it would be loved by generations of children and adults alike, a go to story for bedtime, an educational aid for how to treat people, a comforting tale of adventures with friends and so much more.

Recently a much-loved supporter of Speen Helping Hospices Mr Michael Brown passed away and his wife Valetta, bequeathed us a selection of books, tapes, and CDs to help raise much needed funds for the hospices.

Michael was a family friend of AA Milne's son Christopher and president of the Clair Milne Trust .

AA Milne was a man who had a social conscience and cared about society and helping others through his stories, if he were still around, I think he would approve of his stories helping to raise funds for hospices. As he said "A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference." Eeyore, Winnie-the-Pooh .

All proceeds go to SHH to distribute between the four hospices we raise funds for.

We sold over £40 worth of these books at the Speen Helping Hospices - Annual Christmas Market November 2022 and the remainder donated to a local school Christmas Market.

The Enchanted Places - Christopher Milne

At the age of fifty-four Christopher Milne recalled his early childhood, remembering 'the enchanted places' where he used to play in Sussex. He was the only child of author A. A. Milne. As a child, he was the basis of the character Christopher Robin in his father's Winnie-the-Pooh stories and in two books of poems. Contents
