2025 - £16,000 paid to the hospices

Like 2023, 2024 was another challenging year for SHH.SHH held a series of very successful fundraising events in 2024 for the four hospices the group supports Helen & Douglas House for Children, South Bucks Hospice, Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity and Rennie Grove and Peace Hospice Care.

We held a Quiz Night in March, the Ladies Spring Lunch in May, Comedy Night in September, Bridge Afternoon in October, the Annual Christmas Market in November, Perfume and Beauty Product Sale and Carol Singing and Christmas Hamper raffle in December. We had to cancel Jazz in the Park 24 in July because of the bad weather.

We had raised £16,010 in a very difficult year and have now donated £4000 to each of the above charities.See Fundraising - 2024

Above left: Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity - FNH@Home nurses—Fiona, Fiona, and Laura—were thrilled to receive a £4,000 donation from this wonderful group, which has been fundraising for hospice care since 2001.Gracie Stickings (SHH) and Ceri Syner (SHH) presented the cheque and spent time chatting with the team about the vital care they provide in the community.

In fact, just this morning, Fiona had arranged for one of her patients to be moved into our Hospice to receive end-of-life care. This support makes such a difference—thank you

2024 - £18,000 paid to the hospices

2023 was a challenging year for Speen Helping Hospices probably reflecting financial constraints as high interest rates and inflation hit people's discretionary spend. Selling tickets for events, that were traditionally very popular, was challenging and had it not been for the Golf Challenge at the beginning of 2023 our donations to the four hospices would have been considerably less.

However, by drawing from our first event of 2024, the Quiz Night, we will now donate a total, of £18,000 that is £4,500 to each hospice leaving a small amount in balance to cover costs. See Fundraising - 2023

2023 - £18,000 paid to the hospices

We had a very busy year with a great range of fund raising events. See Fundraising - 2022

Each of the four hospices we raise funds for have now received £4,500. This can only be achieved with your support so thank you for that. We know there are many competing demands for your support and we are very grateful for the support you give us. Please continue to do so, many families in our locality alone have valued the kindness and care their loved ones have received from the hospices.

Christmas seems a long way past now but for Speen Helping Hospices late November and December were the culmination of our fundraising events for 2021

It was wonderful to be back in the Chapel to hold the Christmas Market, the perfect venue for an important village day. We had some new stall holders this year and, both our regulars and the newbies all did very well. Counting the takings at the door, food sales, second-hand jewellery and scarves, the cake stall, the silent auction, our SHH craft stall and the stall holders table fee we raised £2,786.64. A very good result.

The Christmas Hamper raffle and the carol singing raised £820 and £880 respectively. The carol singers battled their way around the village over three separate evenings singing their hearts out. Thank you to Peter and Jill Johnson, Jan Findlay, Jill and Paul Rogerson, June and Martyn Evans, Bob Stupples, Roger Craft, Margaret Chitty, Elizabeth Mc Myn and Alex and her daughter and Rosie and Tim at The Manse.

Huge thanks and praise for the Sassy Santas for turning out on a grey day for another fun run. They raised £1,040, we are so grateful for their commitment and support to SHH.

These final events brought our grand total of money raised during 2021 to £19,326.93. We allocated £4,500 to each of the charities and the cheque presentations are shown below.
