Johnny Thirkell - 'Blown It' September 2018

This event was not run by the SHH but when Jem was first involved with the 'Blown It' evening featuring Johnny Thirkell he did say any profits from the event would be donated to the SHH but I don't think any of us expected the huge sum of £1062.00 Jem had asked me to mention that this was only possible because of the generosity of Johnny Thirkell who didn’t take a fee and more particularly Ian who interviewed him and designed the event, not only did he refuse a fee, he drove down from Newcastle, (and back that night) and didn’t even accept petrol money.

Also Amanda Dobbs who assisted behind the bar, and Antony Cox who helped with light and sound. Thank you so much Jem for your support and this very generous donation which will make so much difference to what the SHH will be able to give to the Hospice charities at the end of the year.- Source Speen Helping Hospices Facebook Page September 2018

The group - was founded in 2001 by Suzi Rose and called the Speen Supporters Group, in 2013 it became The Speen Group. In 2014 became the Speen Helping Hospices as this name described the purpose of the group and the full objective of raising money for local Hospices. The group has raised over £159,384 since it was established in 2001.
