Speen Helping Hospices and 2024 - From March to December

For our first fundraising event in 2024 we are running our second pub style quiz night. The first was held in December 2022.£2,134 was raised by this event More detailed information here about the March 2024 event

Our second event in 2024 followed on from the Golf Day in March 2023 at Burnham Beeches Golf Club. We were given a Fourball voucher worth approximately £340.00. We organised a raffle draw with tickets @ £5 each. The voucher is valid till the end of 2024 and can be used Monday to Friday by advanced booking.48 tickets sold and the event raised £360 (a very generous donation was added after the event closed) More detailed information here

Speen Festival is held every other year and some of the profits are donated to local organisations. In late March we were advised that the festival was going to make a donation of £500.

Our third 2024 event is the annual Ladies Spring Lunch at the Horse Trust, Speen -Wednesday 8th May 2024 with tickets costing £38 per person (including complimentary glass of wine) for a three course meal. £2,544 raised by this event - More detailed information here

Jazz in the Park 24 - Sunday 7th July. Unfortunately the bad weather moved in over the weekend so the decision on the Saturday was to cancel and offer refunds.

Jeremy Harmsworth Quartet and Martin Hart Quartet were booked to entertain at Speen Playing Fields - a new location for 2024. Those who had bought their tickets in advance were offered a full refund and many declined so that proceeds could be passed onto the hospice charities.

Donations were made from people asking SHH to keep the price of their tickets

SHH Supporting the Community - Speen Fete 2024 Saturday 13th July - Members of Speen Helping Hospices committee helped out at Speen Fete at the Children's Books, Plant and Flowers and Preserves selling these items for fete proceeds.

The Speen Fete team were delighted to announce that they donated £4000 across the 11 village organisations that took part. Speen & North Dean News have agreed to forfeit there share this year thus allowing us to increase our donations to £400 per group. Many thanks to the Speen Fete team for the donation of £400

The group - was founded in 2001 by Suzi Rose and called the Speen Supporters Group, in 2013 it became The Speen Group. In 2014 became the Speen Helping Hospices as this name described the purpose of the group and the full objective of raising money for local Hospices. The group has raised over £159,384 since it was established in 2001.
