In March 2023 Speen Helping Hospices held a golf day at Burnham Beeches Golf Club

We were presented with a Fourball voucher that has to be used by the end of 2024 - Monday to Friday.

It is worth approximately £340.00

This was raffled with the draw taking place on Saturday 20th April

Tickets cost £5 each

Ticket sytem closed Friday evening 19th April

Thank you to everyone buying tickets. We sold tickets from individuals from Aylesbury, Beaconsfield, Great Missenden, Hazlemere, High Wycombe, Hughenden, Iver, North Dean, Speen, Watford and Widmer End - 48 tickets sold and the event raised £240

March 15th 2023 was the first ever Speen Helping Hospices - SHH Charity Golf Day at Burnham Beeches Golf Club (18 holes). This event was organized by Martyn Evans, husband of Speen Helping Hospices Management Committee member June Evans.

It was sold out within a couple of days of the box office opening. There was incredible support from corporate and individual sponsorship for prizes and holes and the management of Burnham Beeches Golf Club. The weather was good and the event raised a lot of money...£5,500 was raised More detailed information here

Visitors / Dress Code and Phone Use (Information suppied by Burnham Beeches Golf Club)

On the course & practice areas: All shirts must have a collar (golfing crew necks are permitted) and remain tucked in at all times. For gentlemen shirts with sleeves are required. Trousers or tailored knee length golf shorts must be worn. Beach or ‘Cargo’ style shorts with large external pockets are not acceptable. Denim Jeans, Combat or Jogging Style trousers are not permitted. When wearing shorts, socks must be either short white SPORTS socks or short SPORTS socks that are colour coordinated with the shorts. Trainers are not permitted.

In and around the clubhouse: Throughout the year the dress code in and around the Clubhouse is smart casual. (This includes smart denim jeans and trainers.) Hats or caps should not be worn and footwear should be worn at all times. If gentlemen choose not to wear socks in or around the Clubhouse then their shoes must cover their feet i.e. not open toe sandals or flip flops. Clean, dry golf clothing is acceptable but golf footwear should not be worn in the main lounge or dining room, apart from the carpet path leading from the patio to the spike bar.

Mobile phones: Mobile phones may be left switched on in the Clubhouse (on silent) for internet/text purposes. Any telephone calls to/from your phone can only be answered/made in the entrance foyer, or in the car park area. Using phones for making/answering telephone calls is not permitted elsewhere in the Clubhouse; on the patio and surrounding gardens, or out on the Course (except in emergencies).

The group - was founded in 2001 by Suzi Rose and called the Speen Supporters Group, in 2013 it became The Speen Group. In 2014 became the Speen Helping Hospices as this name described the purpose of the group and the full objective of raising money for local Hospices. The group has raised over £159,384 since it was established in 2001.
